SOSX
The SOSX Research mark: papers connected as a literature graph

SOSX Research

Know what the field actually says

SOSX Research: literature searched, connected, understood, across disciplines. It takes on the hardest everyday problem in research: knowing what a field actually says. A body of literature becomes one connected map (papers, claims, methods and groups as nodes; support, contradiction and lineage as typed links) so the gaps are visible, the contradictions are explicit, and the answer to "has anyone already done this?" is a walk through a graph, not a month of hope.

The methodology is proven the hard way: we run our own competitive funded-bid work on it: a verified-citations-only gate, documented scoping searches, and adversarial review before anything is submitted. The literature-search and concept-mapping tooling brings that same discipline to your research programme, on the live SOSX engine.

SOSX Research: research support

The field as a map: papers and concepts connected, with the gaps and contradictions made visible instead of remembered.
Every reference passes three gates: a retrieved source, a source that supports the claim, and a credibility tier.
An illustrative example: a claim in your map that new work disputes, surfaced for you to review rather than smoothed over.

The citation gate

The machine era has an integrity problem: references that sound real and are not. Our answer is architectural, not aspirational: a gate that drops any machine-emitted reference not backed by a retrieved source, credibility tiers that travel with every claim, and provenance a reviewer can walk. A paper on the SOSX design has been submitted to a peer-reviewed journal, and it was written under exactly this discipline; we enforce our own method on our own manuscripts.

The citation gate in one picture: every claim resolves to a retrieved source, or it does not ship.

How it supports your research

SOSX does the expensive work underneath research: finding the literature, mapping it, chasing the evidence and keeping the audit trail, so your hours go into the thinking rather than the searching. The argument, the writing and the judgement stay with you, because authorship is warrant and warrant is human. That is the design rather than a shortfall in it: a thesis or a grant is worth exactly what its author can defend, and the platform's job is to make sure you can.

Who it serves

Doctoral researchers testing whether the gap is real. Supervisors and research offices watching five programmes quietly contradict each other. Research-translation teams deciding which of forty ideas deserves the next tranche. If your job is to know a field, or to bet on one, this is built for you, and the companion book Mapping the Field teaches the whole discipline by hand today.

Illustrative: a field as a typed-flow network, with citation, influence, funding and evidence, and the reinforcing loop of citations and prestige checked by the balancing loop of replication and review.

The companion book teaches the whole mapping discipline by hand, from literature to grant, before the platform enters the frame.

Bring us a research question

The one your examiner, your funder or your review board will ask. We will show you what a mapped field looks like, and where the method is honest about its limits.
